BuyBoard (Cooperative Purchasing Program)

What is BuyBoard?

BuyBoard is a purchasing cooperative that grew out of the Texas Association of School Boards and serves schools, local governments, and other public entities. Like other cooperatives, it competitively solicits and awards contracts that its members can then buy from directly, so a school district or municipality can purchase compliant goods and services without running its own full procurement each time.

How it works

The cooperative handles the competitive solicitation centrally and awards contracts to vendors across many categories. Member entities, once enrolled, can place orders against those awarded contracts with confidence that the underlying competition requirement has been satisfied. For the buyer, that means speed and pooled pricing; for the vendor, an awarded contract opens access to a large base of public purchasers.

Why it matters to vendors

If you sell to schools or local governments, especially in Texas but increasingly beyond, a BuyBoard award can put your products in front of many members from a single competition. It is one of several cooperatives competing for the same public buyers, so the strategic question is which one your target customers actually use. BuyBoard sits within the broader landscape of cooperative purchasing across the SLED market.
