eVA (Virginia's eProcurement Portal)

What is eVA?

eVA is the Commonwealth of Virginia's official online procurement portal. State agencies and many Virginia localities use it to post solicitations, manage purchasing, and place orders, and vendors use it to register, receive bid notifications, and respond. If you want to sell to Virginia's public sector, an eVA registration is effectively the entry ticket.

How it works for vendors

Vendors create a profile, list the categories of goods and services they provide, and then receive notices of matching opportunities. Like most state systems, eVA charges vendor transaction fees, so it is worth understanding the fee structure before you build it into your pricing. Registration also makes your company discoverable to public buyers searching for suppliers.

Where it fits in the bigger picture

eVA is one of dozens of separate state and local portals across the country, which is exactly why the SLED market is so fragmented: there is no single national feed, so each state runs its own system. Vendors targeting multiple states end up registered in many portals at once. Our guide to the top states for SLED opportunities helps you decide which markets are worth that effort.
